In March 2026, a major global power and energy storage company submitted a DEMO request to our company for the L-4 Automatic Splicing Machine. The customer wished to evaluate the equipment as a solution to optimize the reel change process for SMT components. After several rounds of engagement with the customer and a thorough understanding of their equipment requirements, the company ultimately delivered an L-4 unit equipped with missing component detection and LCR measurement functions to the customer's site in May for real-line experience on their production line. The L-4 Automatic Splicing Machine is specifically designed for 8 mm SMT component carrier tapes. It comes standard with an intelligent vision system and offers an optional LCR measurement error-proofing system. The measurement system features an independent X/Y/Z axis design, and the measurement mechanism adopts a variable-pin approach, capable of measuring components as small as 01005. The customer's primary concerns were the equipment's stable operation and the on-machine stability of the splice point. It ensures efficient and stable production on the line, reduces downtime, safeguards product quality, and prevents wrong-material incidents.

Beyond automatic splicing, the L-4 incorporates several error-proofing functions designed to help prevent operator mistakes.

The demonstrated system includes features such as:

· Automatic scanning

· BOM interlock

· Vision alignment checks

· LCR value verification

· Forced operation sequence

· Automatic traceability

By combining these functions with automated splicing, the L-4 provides a more controlled and standardized process compared with conventional manual splicing.

According to operator feedback during the evaluation, the machine was easy to operate, provided consistent and reliable splicing quality, and demonstrated stable performance.

This DEMO provided the customer with an opportunity to evaluate based on the equipment's actual operation and performance, enabling them to further determine how the L-4 Automatic Splicing Machine can be integrated into their existing SMT production process.
